While Pinot Nero from Oltrepo' Pavese is often used for sparkling wine, Amadi was built to be a serious red. Sourced from selected grapes from a single plot of 40-year-old vines at 400m altitude, this wine is about depth and longevity. Low yields, 12 months in French oak, and another year in the bottle are ingridients for a serious wine. This is Pinot Nero with presence, structure, and made to age.
What makes it special?
Altitude, south-facing hills and cool nights make this wine intense and sophisticated. The nose hits you with ripe red currants, wild flowers, and a touch of spice. On the palate, it has a generous structure and firm, incisive tannins that have been polished smooth by the wood. It’s elegant, garnet-red, and has a richness that lingers around.
What to pair it with:
- Roasted or grilled meats
- Aged, salty cheeses
- Hearty winter (beans) stews
- A night when you want a wine with real character
Serve at 18°C | 14.5% alcohol
Ageing Potential: 10 – 12 Years
Drinking Window: 2025 – 2035
Le Fiole is the story of two sisters, Silvia and Elisa, who chose to reconnect with their roots in Oltrepò Pavese. Their grandfather Guglielmo and father Enzo both dedicated their lives to the vines, growing grapes with love and patience on the rolling hills of Montalto Pavese.
The spark came one summer day in 2016, when Silvia and Elisa discovered an old chest in their grandfather’s farmhouse. Inside were bottles of wine carefully kept from the years of their births — a sign of the deep bond between family, land, and wine. From that moment, they knew they wanted to continue this tradition in their own way.
Today, they call themselves the female side of Oltrepò Pavese. With their Pinot Noir and Pinot Grigio, they aim to elevate local grapes with elegance and personality, blending family heritage with a modern vision. Every bottle of Le Fiole is both a tribute to their roots and an invitation to experience the unique character of Oltrepò Pavese.
Oltrepò Pavese is one of Italy’s best-kept secrets. Tucked away in the hills south of Milan, it’s a landscape of rolling vineyards, tiny villages, and winding valleys. This is Pinot Noir country — in fact, the area sits on the same latitude as Burgundy and Oregon, two of the world’s most famous Pinot regions.
Here, the days are warm, the nights are cool, and the soils are a mix of limestone and clay. That combination gives the wines freshness, elegance, and depth — exactly what Pinot Noir needs to shine. It’s no wonder Oltrepò is often called the “Burgundy of Italy.”
Despite its history and potential, the region is still under the radar. And that’s the beauty of it: you’ll find authentic wines full of character, without the hype. A place where Pinot Noir finds a true Italian voice.
