ATerra - Primitivo

ATerra
primitivo
This is what happens when old vines meet a new mindset. A young Italian lawyer, splitting his time between London and Puglia, found a 50-year-old vineyard about to be ripped out. Instead of letting it disappear, he saved it—farming it organically with minimal intervention and total respect for the vines' rhythm. The result? A Primitivo that breaks all the rules. It’s light, fresh, and almost playful, moving away from the thick, syrupy style Puglia is often known for.
The wine is packed with bright red fruit—think strawberries and cherries—with a dusting of spice. The calcareous and sandy clay soils provide a rare combination of structure and freshness. It’s smooth and juicy, but definitely not simple. There is real life in this glass.
Pierluigi’s Note: This is the bottle I reach for when I want a light red. It’s incredible with a classic Pizza or a simple Pasta Pomodoro. Because of its freshness, it also pairs beautifully with grilled vegetables or a spread of antipasti. You can even serve it lightly chilled as an aperitivo. Serve at 12–18°C.
