Pinot Pair
Oltrepo' pavese, italy
le fiole
pinot noir, pinot grigio
Two Pinots. One elegant vision of Oltrepò Pavese.
Oltrepò Pavese grows more Pinot than anywhere else in Italy—at altitude, where cool nights and warm days create perfect balance. This pair shows two sides of the Pinot family: Pinot Grigio with depth and character, Pinot Noir with finesse and structure. Both from 400 meters above sea level. Both focused on elegance over everything else.
Elivià — Pinot Grigio (The White)
Deep straw-yellow with copper hints. Yellow stone fruit, exotic notes, white flowers. Full-bodied and rich, but lifted by bright acidity. This is Pinot Grigio with weight and presence—made for food, not just easy drinking.
Alené — Pinot Noir (The Red)
Bright ruby with garnet edges. Redcurrants, wild rose, delicate spice. Silky tannins, fresh acidity, layers of finesse. Light on its feet but full of character. Elegant without being delicate.
Why this pair works:
You get the full range of what the Pinot family can do. One white, one red. Both refined. Both versatile at the table—seafood and risotto for the Grigio, roasted meats and aged cheeses for the Noir. Or open both and taste how the same grape family expresses itself in two completely different ways.
Perfect for:
- Dinner parties where elegance matters
- Exploring Oltrepò Pavese and what it does best
- Gifts for wine lovers who appreciate finesse
Serve at 10–12°C (Elivià) and 18°C (Alené) | 13.5–14% alcohol
Le Fiole is the story of two sisters, Silvia and Elisa, who chose to reconnect with their roots in Oltrepò Pavese. Their grandfather Guglielmo and father Enzo both dedicated their lives to the vines, growing grapes with love and patience on the rolling hills of Montalto Pavese.
The spark came one summer day in 2016, when Silvia and Elisa discovered an old chest in their grandfather’s farmhouse. Inside were bottles of wine carefully kept from the years of their births — a sign of the deep bond between family, land, and wine. From that moment, they knew they wanted to continue this tradition in their own way.
Today, they call themselves the female side of Oltrepò Pavese. With their Pinot Noir and Pinot Grigio, they aim to elevate local grapes with elegance and personality, blending family heritage with a modern vision. Every bottle of Le Fiole is both a tribute to their roots and an invitation to experience the unique character of Oltrepò Pavese.
Oltrepò Pavese is one of Italy’s best-kept secrets. Tucked away in the hills south of Milan, it’s a landscape of rolling vineyards, tiny villages, and winding valleys. This is Pinot Noir country — in fact, the area sits on the same latitude as Burgundy and Oregon, two of the world’s most famous Pinot regions.
Here, the days are warm, the nights are cool, and the soils are a mix of limestone and clay. That combination gives the wines freshness, elegance, and depth — exactly what Pinot Noir needs to shine. It’s no wonder Oltrepò is often called the “Burgundy of Italy.”
Despite its history and potential, the region is still under the radar. And that’s the beauty of it: you’ll find authentic wines full of character, without the hype. A place where Pinot Noir finds a true Italian voice.
