Puglia Elegance - Bio
Puglia, italy
maria faretra
malbech, nero di troia
Two rosés. Two personalities. Both innovative.
Most Puglia is known for big reds. But Maria Faretra, an innovative winemaker bringing fresh ideas to the region, saw an opportunity: turn Puglia's noble grapes—Malbec and Nero di Troia—into rosés with structure, character, and zero compromises. The result? Two wines that refuse to be "just pretty." One is dry and structured. The other is velvety and elegant. Both are organic. Both prove that Puglia does more than one thing well.
Temèria — 100% Malbec (The Structured One)
Bright pink with grip. Cherries, raspberries, flowers on the nose. Dry and firm on the palate, with strawberry and citrus cutting through. This is rosé with a backbone—fresh but not light, drinkable but not simple.
Sontuosa — 100% Nero di Troia (The Elegant One)
Vibrant pink with intensity. Flowers, citrus, pomegranate. Soft, velvety texture that feels almost luxurious. Fresh and delicate, but with presence. The kind of rosé that makes you slow down.
Why this duo works:
You get range. One for when you want structure and character. One for when you want elegance and ease. Both pair with Mediterranean food—grilled fish, pasta, seafood, fresh salads. Or just open both and see which one suits the moment.
Perfect for:
- Summer dinners where you want options
- Discovering what Puglia does beyond red wine
- Gifts for people who take rosé seriously
Serve at 8–10°C | 12.5–13% alcohol | Organic
In the heart of Puglia's wine country, Maria Faretra leads an all-female company that represents a unique and revolutionary approach to winemaking. With a modern soul and ancient values, the brand is born from a desire to combine the past with a forward-looking vision for the future.
Under her leadership, the philosophy is an obsessive search for detail, blending excellent technical skills with artistic inspirations. This meticulous attention extends beyond the cellar to the magnificent labels that create a complete and beautiful experience, honoring the authenticity of the wine inside and out. The winemaking process is based on a "subtraction" approach, which allows grapes like Malbec to fully express the authentic character of their land.
This method, along with a strong commitment to sustainability, ensures that every bottle tells a story of passion and purpose, truly representing the expertise of a single, visionary creator.
Blessed by the Mediterranean sun, La Capitanata forms a part of northern Puglia, where olive groves and vineyards stretch as far as the eye can see. This ancient land, chosen by civilizations since Roman times, has long been a perfect setting for creating great wines, a legacy that continues today.
The region's topography is defined by its proximity to the UNESCO site of Herdonia, with a microclimate characterized by warm summers and mild winters. This, along with the excellent drainage of its soils, creates the perfect conditions for growing noble grape varieties.
Here, the clay-limestone soils, rich in potassium and with a notable presence of limestone rocks, allow the grapes to express their most distinctive characteristics. It is this land of fascination and passion that is at the very heart of the wine, truly representing the heritage of the region.
