falanghina, fiano
Falanghina and Fiano — two of southern Italy's most characterful white grapes, grown organically on the calcareous plains of Cerignola and blended into one straightforward, honest white. Fermented in steel and aged 4 months on the lees, keeping everything fresh and true to the fruit.
In the glass it's straw yellow with golden hints. Tropical fruit and citrus on the nose, with a fresh, savoury note that reminds you the sea is not far away. Balanced and persistent on the palate, the kind of white that works equally well as an aperitivo or alongside food.
Pierluigi's Note: This is what I'd open on a warm evening with some good seafood or a cold dish. Light, fresh and easy — but with enough character to keep it interesting. Serve cold at 8–10°C.
